Director | Personal Trainer | Strength & Conditioning Coach | Programming Coach
I am Director and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Mildura Strength & Performance, with over 43 years’ experience in competitive powerlifting and body building; achieving 1 World Championship title, 20 National titles and 26 Victorian titles.
I have represented Australia at the Oceania Powerlifting Titles on 5 occasions and World Championships in 1999 and 2014. My love of powerlifting began in 1977 training with friends at a local gym. This gym had a powerlifting team, which took my interest and within 12 months of training, I was competing.
Early in my career, I combined powerlifting and 4 seasons of body building and during this time took out a range of titles including; 1987 IFBB Mr Adelaide Novice and Open class, Runner up in IFBB Mr Melbourne in the same year, winner of the 1989 Open SABBA Adelaide Invitational Physique Classic and winner of the couples section. My love was powerlifting and I returned to full time training and competition.
Due to many years of experience, I am a technique critique on both Olympic and power lifting form and have the ability in seeing when an athlete’s form is breaking, or when an athlete can lift that little bit more and needs just a little encouragement. I pay careful attention to preparation and technique, balancing the muscles of the body and building strength for any chosen sport.
I have been developing custom workouts for personal training of clients all over Australia for over 15 years. My clients range from Centre powerlifting Team members to outback Aussies unable to access specific gym facilities regularly. My passion is to support and train individuals who have a dream and/or goal to achieve, and I format a program specifically to meet their needs.
I take personal training sessions and corporate group sessions at Mildura Strength & Performance. Strength and conditioning coaching is my life passion and I believe strongly in the community atmosphere of any sport.
